Printing Your Favorite T-Shirt

[1] Screen printing is a way of printing a design or picture onto a T-shirt, sweatshirt, or other piece of clothing. In screen printing, a special screen is used to transfer ink onto the clothing. The ink makes the words or picture.
[2] To start the process, the design is first drawn on paper or on a computer. Then, the design is transferred onto a special screen made of mesh. The mesh is like a net, but with very small holes in it. The mesh is stretched tightly over a frame. Then the design is burned onto the screen using a special liquid that is sensitive to light.
[3] After the screen is ready, the ink is applied to the top of the screen. A squeegee (a flat tool with a rubber blade for scraping) is used to press the ink through the mesh and onto the clothing. The ink is pushed through the areas of the screen that have been burned away. This creates the design on the clothing.
[4] Once the ink is applied, the clothing is dried to make sure the ink sets properly. This process can be done several times to layer different colors of ink to create a more complex design. After the printing is done, the clothing is then washed to remove any unwanted ink.
[5] Screen printing is a popular way to create interesting T-shirts, sweatshirts, and other clothing items. It is often used for making special designs, like sports team logos or T-shirts for special events. Screen printing is a fun and creative way to make custom clothing that is personal and unique.
