Looking for a Head

The Headless Horseman could not find his head. “Now where did I put it?” he said to himself. “Is this it?”
He picked up a cabbage and put it on his neck. But when he leaned down to tie his shoes, the rabbits ate the cabbage.
He picked up a basketball. “Maybe this is my head.” He put it on his neck. But a tall girl took the basketball and tossed it through a hoop.
“The problem is that I need eyes,” he said to his sister.
Then, she put a potato on his neck. “This has eyes,” she said.
The Headless Horseman blinked his eyes. He looked in the mirror. “This is a potato,” he said. Then he spotted something under the bed. “My head!” he cried. He put his head back on his neck, and his sister cooked the potato for his dinner.
