Quentin’s Pony

Archie Roosevelt felt ill. “My head hurts, and I’m tired,” he told his mother. “Go to bed and rest,” she said.
Archie had many brothers and sisters. They lived in the White House with many pets. His brothers and sisters took their pets upstairs to cheer up Archie. Soon, his room was full of animals.
He counted two dogs, three cats, a snake, four mice, a rat, and a parrot. “Do you feel better now?” asked Quentin.
Archie frowned. “I still feel sick.”
Then Quentin had an idea. He ran downstairs and got another animal. His pet was so big that it had to make a special trip upstairs in the White House elevator.
Archie looked so surprised when Quentin opened his bedroom door. There stood a Shetland pony! “Now I feel better!” cried Archie.
