The Good Mother

Mother Teresa lived in India. She taught high school. One day, she walked into the city. She saw sick people lying in the road. “Help me!” cried a thin man. “I must have water.”
“I have to help these people,” said Mother Teresa.
She left her school. She found a group of women. They all said they would help poor people, too. The woman gave the poor children food. They took care of the sick mothers and fathers.
One day, she met a happy man. “You gave me water,” he said. “You saved my life.”
Mother Teresa had only a few clothes. She did not have much money. But she felt very rich. She gave hope to many people. They loved her because she was so good.
