The Jungle

Carlos and Maya walked through the old ruins of a city in Mexico. They saw iguanas on the stone walls. They touched rocks that people had used for cooking pots.
“Do not wander into the jungle,” said the tour guide. “It is dark and full of danger.”
Carlos did not listen. He saw a bright orange bird in a palm tree. It flew away. He followed it into the jungle. Then, he was lost. One tree looked just like another. He could not find the trail. “What will I do?” Carlos cried.
“Sew up the hole in your backpack.” Maya walked up to him. “Your sunflower seeds fell out. They made a trail so I could find you. Now, let’s get back to our tour guide, fast. Wild animals love sunflower seeds!”
