The Mysterious Smell

Anne rode her bike down the street. She hummed to herself. Then, she stopped. The most delicious smell in the world floated into her nose.
“What is that smell?” she said out loud. She rode to the market on the corner. Mr. Lee sold sweet-smelling tea in little bags. Anne took a big sniff. But that was not the most delicious smell in the world.
Anne rode to Mrs. Miller’s house. Mrs. Miller grew roses. Anne stuck her nose into a big red rose. It smelled good, but it was not the most delicious smell in the world.
The smell stayed in her nose all the way home. It followed her to the garage while she put away her bike. It followed as she walked into the kitchen where Dad took a tray of chocolate chip cookies from the oven. Anne smiled. Now she knew what made the most delicious smell in the world!
