Glenda Goldfish

Glenda was a goldfish. She lived in a bowl on Nick’s desk. She had fresh water. She had a little castle. But she was bored. “I want to swim in the ocean,” Glenda said. “I want to see the world.”

One night it got windy. Nick forgot to close his window. The wind was so strong that it picked Glenda up out of her bowl. The rain washed her into the gutter. She floated along until she came to the ocean!

“At last!” said Glenda. “I can see the world!”

But she was a small fish, and the world was very big. A whale tried to eat her. She missed her castle. “I wish I could go back to my bowl,” Glenda said. She swam out of the ocean and back up the gutter. She waited in a puddle outside Nick’s house. When he saw her, he smiled. “You came back!” he cried and put her back in her bowl.
