Going to Earth

Minnie wanted to see Earth. She was tired of Mars. “Same old red dirt,” she said. “Same old dusty land.” But Minnie’s father wouldn’t let her drive the spaceship.

“You are not old enough,” Dad said.

Minnie knew how to drive. Her older brother had taught her. One day she got into the spaceship and turned the key. “To Earth!” she said.

The spaceship took Minnie all the way to Earth. She got out and walked on green grass. “Earth is pretty!” she cried. “Oops!” Minnie was so busy looking at a river that she slipped in mud. The key to the spaceship fell into the river. It was lost. “How will I go home?” she cried.

Just then, she heard a voice. She turned to find Dad standing there. He had a key in his hand. “Good thing we have an extra spaceship,” he said.
