Rain Blue

“Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who is the prettiest one of all?” asked the queen. “Rain Blue,” answered the mirror.

The queen was angry. She hit the mirror, and she screamed. It was not a good day for the queen.

“Where is Rain Blue?” she asked the mirror.

“She is in the cottage of the seven little bees. They live in the middle of the forest.” The queen put on a wig. She put on a funny dress and very big shoes. She put a wart on her nose. Over her head she wore a big, blue hat with feathers. In a basket were poisonous bananas.

“I will find Rain Blue!” she yelled.
The seven little bees went to work in the morning.
“Lock the door, Rain Blue. Do not talk to strangers,” they said.
“I won’t. Thank you.” Rain Blue shut the door. She dusted the house, and then she read a book.

Rain Blue started to sing when she heard a knock at the door. It was the queen dressed up. She asked Rain Blue if she would like a banana.

Rain Blue said, “No, thank you. I just ate my lunch, and I am not hungry anymore.” The queen went away angry.
