The Big “D”

I am so happy today. My mom said that we are going for the big “D” tomorrow. I asked her what the big “D” was. She said the big drive to Grammy’s house. Mommy says that we will stay there for a few days.

Daddy will have to stay home. He is very busy at work and cannot go. He will have to work late. He will have to cook his own dinner too. He will also have to make his own lunches.

Daddy read me a story at night. He kissed me. Dad said he would miss me very much. I started to cry. It is okay to cry, he says.

My mom packed my best red shirt. I got it for Christmas. I also wanted to take my blue pants and a picture of my daddy.

I know that time will go fast. I know I will see my daddy soon. My Grammy will fix me a pie to make me feel better. There will be lots of fun things to do. I will help Grammy with her garden. I will sit and swing with Grammy.

I can’t wait to go to Grammy’s house!
