Stuck in the Snow Fort

It was a snowy day. The bell rang for recess and all of the kids ran to put on their boots. “Remember to wear your hats. Remember your mittens. Remember to zip your coat.

It is cold out today,” said Mrs. M. Mrs. M was Tye’s first grade teacher, and he liked her.

Tye was in a hurry to get outside. He was meeting his cousin, Cameron, at the snow fort. They had planned to make snowballs. The snow was wet and sticky. It was a great day.

“Hey, Tye, what took so long?” asked Cameron.

“I was putting on my coat. The zipper got stuck. Mrs. M helped me. She is nice.”
“Let’s go. We need to hurry. I want to make snowballs.”

The two boys ran to the fort. It was empty. They started to make snowballs. They put the balls inside.

Bam! Tye got hit with a snowball in the head. “Who threw that?”
“I don’t know. We had better get inside quick,” said Cameron.

They dived into the fort. Snowballs came in the windows. They came in the doors. Cameron peeked out. “It’s Sara and Anna!” he yelled. “Get them, Tye!”

Both boys grabbed a snowball. They were stuck in the fort.
“Too bad, boys! You may only come out if you kiss us!” yelled the girls.
