Candy Planet

“We’ve landed,” said John. He hopped out of the spaceship.
“Where are we?” asked Fred. “It looks strange.”
“The map says Candy Planet. Let’s look around.”
The boys shut the door and started walking.
“The sidewalks are chocolate,” said John. “Look, the letters H-E-R-S-H-E-Y are on the path.”
“What does H-E-R-S-H-E-Y spell?”
“It spells Hershey. Like Hershey’s® chocolate.”
“Mmmm. Can we eat the sidewalk?”
“I don’t think so,” said Fred.

They kept walking. They saw tall buildings. They were made from the biggest candy bars anybody has ever seen. On some buildings, there were peanuts for windows. Caramel was painted on some the doors. Gum was used to keep the parts of the building together.

The city life was filled with candy. Streetlights had red, green, and yellow gumdrops on them. Cars were all shapes and sizes. Some were made out of chocolate, some were made out of mint candies, and some were made out of jellybeans. The tires on the cars were Life Savers®. The people had different kinds of licorice pieces for their hair. Some people had red licorice, and others had black licorice.

“This is great,” said John.
“This makes my teeth hurt,” said Fred.
The boys looked up in the sky. There were marshmallows for clouds. All of a sudden, it started to rain chocolate drops. They ran quickly back to the spaceship.
“Time to go home!”
