They call her “Condie” for short. Her real name is very long. She was an only child.
Condie's mother was a music teacher, and her father was a preacher.
She loved to play the piano when she was little. Condie dreamed of being a pianist.
She wanted to play the piano very well. She played and played. It was her dream. It
was the thing she wanted most of all.
One day Condie turned 15. She knew she could not play as well as she wanted. She
wanted to help make the world a better place so Condie
went to college. She studied hard.
Now, she speaks five languages. She worked for the White
House and traveled to places far away. When she was
done, Condie went to Stanford University. She decided to
teach there.
