Seasons

The sun gives light to the earth. It makes our weather change from day to day. Some of the time, it is sunny. Other days are cloudy. Some days are rainy. Other days are snowy or windy. It is always changing. The weather changes during the seasons.

In summer the sun is closest to the earth. It is warm and sunny. People like to swim and go to the beach. They like to play in the sand and eat drink cold soda. They like to put their toes in the sand.

Fall is when the leaves fall off the trees. They turn colors: red, green, orange, and brown. Things start to die and turn brown. The wind starts to blow. It starts to get colder every day, and people wear coats.

Winter is the coldest time of all. The leaves have fallen off the trees. Some places have snow. Other places just feel colder than in the fall. Plants do not grow. Trees sit empty. The nests have no eggs. Birds fly away.

Spring comes. The flowers come back. Leaves grow on the trees. Things start to get green again. The sun shines behind the clouds. Summer is near.
