Earth’s Resources

The earth gives us things we need. These things are called resources. People use these things every day. We have three resources that the earth gives us: water, land, and air.

People need clean water to drink. We need it to brush our teeth. We need it to take a bath. Clean water is good for washing our clothes. It is good for washing our cars. It is good for playing in. Clean water makes us feel fresh and clean.

We need air, too. We need clean air to breathe. We need it to make our bodies stay healthy. We need it to grow plants. We need clean air so animals will stay alive.

We also need land. It is a good place to grow food. It is a good place to build homes. It is used to make landfills. This is a place where people take their trash, so that it does not make us sick. It is good to take care of our land. We need to keep it clean.

Land, water, and air are all things we must have to be safe and grow strong.
