Perfection

Many in the village knew that Ketu had a hard time singing. They often plugged their ears as he sang. His singing made the babies in the village cry. Many people asked Ketu to stop singing, but he never did. He was sad that he could not sing very well, but he refused to quit singing.

One morning, he awoke to the sound of the birds singing beautiful songs outside of his window. He decided then and there that he would take singing lessons from the birds. Each day Ketu would rise before the sun was awake. He would walk into the forest and sing with the birds. He sang day after day.

One day a ceremony was held in the village. All of the village people were gathered at the ceremony. It was a day of great pride and joy for the village. It was the celebration of their new king.

The new king did not know that Ketu could not sing very well. At the opening of the ceremony, he called on Ketu to sing, and all of the village people moaned and covered their ears. But they were flabbergasted to hear the most beautiful voice singing. They were surprised to see that it was Ketu who was singing so beautifully. They could not believe their ears.

From that day forward, Ketu was always asked to sing at all celebrations and ceremonies. From then on, he was seen as the master singer of the village.
