Martian Madness

The Martian was in every one of Jordan’s classes. He was always sitting in Jordan’s seat and using Jordan’s pencil. Jordan was starting to wonder if he had gone crazy.

The Martian knew his name, but he didn’t seem to like Jordan. In first period, he almost got into a fistfight over the chair. Jordan finally gave in, but the Martian insisted that he and Jordan share the chair. And so Jordan shared the chair with the Martian for the rest of the hour. It was the most uncomfortable hour Jordan had ever experienced.

It seemed that Jordan was the only one who could see the Martian, as everyone, including his teachers, gave him funny looks when he tried to talk to the Martian. He had to figure out what the Martian wanted. At lunchtime, the Martian used his lunch ticket and ate his chicken strips. Jordan got strange looks when he would occasionally start talking aloud to the alien.

“So what do you want? Is it my chair? my teachers? my life? Why me?

“No,” was the Martian’s response. “Your brain.”

“My brain?” asked Jordan. “Now that’s a funny one. I’ve been accused on many occasions of not having one!”
