The Loud Rabbits

Mother Rabbit had worked hard to make a delicious dinner for her family. She hollered for the little rabbits to come downstairs and set the table. The rabbits came down and they began to get the dishes to set the table, but they couldn’t stop yelling at one another.

“I’m tired of setting the plates on the table,” hollered Sister Rabbit.
“Well, it’s your turn, so do it,” yelled Brother Rabbit.
“Stop yelling at each other!” said Mother Rabbit. The little rabbits couldn’t hear her because of their yelling, and so she shouted her demands.

After the meal was eaten, Mother Rabbit asked her “crew” to do the dishes. Again the rabbits began yelling at one another. The noise grew louder and louder. It was more than Mother Rabbit could bear.
“Stop all this yelling!” screamed Mother Rabbit. “I am tired of hearing you yell all the time!”
“Well, it’s his fault!” hollered Sister Rabbit.
“No, it’s not,” said Brother Rabbit, not to be outdone. He yelled even louder. “If she would just do her job without bugging me. . . !” By then, Brother Rabbit had to stop and cough. His throat was getting sore from all that yelling.

“Why do you always have to yell? Why can’t you just have a normal conversation? Where did you learn to yell like this?” yelled Mother Rabbit.

Suddenly the words sank into her mind, and she quietly walked up to her room. Her new-found epiphany made her stop and think.
