Plan B
A fox and a cat were having an argument about who was best at being able to free himself from danger. The cat explained that he had an easy way to escape. He would climb a tree. The fox claimed that he had at least 10 means of escape: he could fight, hide in a den, run fast, and so on.
Just then, a pack of dogs could be heard in the distance. Both the cat and the fox were scared. They knew that the pack of dogs would eat them if given the chance. The cat quickly scampered up the tree. He knew he would be safe there.
The fox, on the other hand, couldn’t decide what to do. First, he ran to his den to hide. Then he jumped up and ran to the river; he would swim faster than the dogs. But that would not work. He decided to run faster than them. The poor fox didn’t know what to do. As he scurried around from one option to another, he grew tired.
Before long, the dogs were there. The fox began to run, but he was exhausted. He was worn out and couldn’t stay far enough ahead of the dogs. It didn’t take long before the dogs overtook him, and that was the end of the fox.
The cat in the tree watched the whole thing. He shook his head and said to himself, “That poor fox. He should have gone with just one of his plans!”
