Adjectives are words that are used to describe a noun. They can be placed either before or after the noun, though not necessarily next to it. There are three different types of adjectives.
A. Attributive

- When the nervous young man applied for the job, he was asked to show his working permit.
B. Predicate

- These adjectives modify the subject or clause.
- They are usually placed after be or another linking verb in a sentence.
- Another type of predicate adjective is the postpositive adjective, which goes right after the noun, especially with pronouns.

- It is hard for the company to hold a seasonal party this year after two quarters of low profits.
- Anyone willing to volunteer to work this holiday will be given a special holiday bonus
C. Limiting

- These adjectives limit the noun they describe.

2. Adverbs
An adverb is a word that is used to describe an adjective, a verb, or a sentence. They are commonly placed either before or after the Item they are describing, though they can often be located anywhere in the sentence and retain their meaning. While many think all adverbs end in -ly, that is not always the case.
