Hi, Richard.

I've been thinking about your request for ideas on improving our work environment. What would you think about switching cleaning services? I'm sure you've noticed some of the problems we currently have. One is that the trash cans aren't emptied every night, as they're supposed to be. Also, the bathroom floors aren't kept clean, and the soap dispensers are often empty. The cleaners are not doing a good job on the elevators, either. Worst of all, they've left our door to the hallway unlocked at night more than once.

Our contract with our current cleaning service expires in two months. I spoke with the office manager at Forum Inc., on the third floor. She says they use Sparkle Cleaning Services, and that they're excellent as well as very affordable. I can look into this further if you're interested.

Thanks for your e-mail-you made some good points. So I'd appreciate it if you could look into Sparkle Cleaning and possibly get an estimate. Here are some questions to ask relating to our needs:

1. Do they offer rates based on office size in square meters? That's best for an office as big as ours.
2. I'd rather not sign another annual contract. Do they offer no-contract monthly services?
3. Do they clean upholstery? Our current company does, but some don't. That's important because I don't want to hire a separate company for this service.
4. Can they provide references?
