The Rendon University Department of Music invites all members of the campus and local community to attend its yearly recital celebrating excellence among our students. Join us in Steen Music Center’s Cho Recital Hall for an afternoon and evening of superb vocal, piano, cello, saxophone, and violin music.
All performers on the program are winners of the department’s performance awards. Among the honorees this year is Felicia Logan, who recently reached the semifinal round of the popular singing competition TV show Top Vocalist. The full recital program, with details about the performers and pieces, is available at www.rendon.edu/music/soe.
The program will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There is no fee for admission, and seating is first-come, first-served. Please note that seats cannot be saved during the intermission.
Steen Music Center is located at 640 Millard Avenue. Street parking on campus is free after 4:00 p.m., and paid parking is available in the Camacho Lot directly west of the music center.

As part of our ongoing efforts to celebrate cultural diversity, Otis Community Center will hold a series of one-time cooking classes on Asian dishes this spring. The classes will be held on the first Wednesday evening of each month from March through June. In order, the dishes covered will be Vietnamese chicken curry, Korean kimchi stew, Thai spring rolls, and Cantonese stir-fry beef.
Guest instructors from Roark Culinary Academy will teach the classes in our dedicated cooking classroom. Advance registration and payment are required, and participants will be asked to show proof of registration to their instructor. Registration can be completed at our front desk from February 15 for all classes. Those who are not members of Otis Community Center will be required to pay a $5 registration fee.

In the next few weeks, we will have training sessions for two software programs that are important to our business.
First, all employees must attend a 90-minute training on Skeddit, the scheduling software we will switch over to in June. The training session will be held multiple times before the transition to the new system.
Second, a two-hour online training session on Calacad will be required only for engineering department staff. The developer created the training to publicize new functions that have been added to the software, and it will benefit all members of the department to learn about them.
